Didn't Clementine come from Victoria at quite a good price? Did they have a change of heart in trying to reap a big profit selling it? www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1744092Who wants to give their Peace and Love Hippie Dippy story? If you do remember heartstrings people, heartstrings(by the sounds of things anyway)

Here is my story: Money Grubbers who write BS ads that can't even spell Westfalia correctly are not real VW people and should be avoided at all costs. The End.

Update on this scam www.kijiji.ca/v-cars-trucks/cowichan-valley-duncan/clementine-contest-fraud-volkswagon-westfalia-earth-spirit-vw/1062263332?enableSearchNavigationFlag=trueHere is the body of the ad: Did you enter the contest to win a FREE Volkswagon van from crankcrankvrooom? Are you disappointed in what is now unfolding? Want to join resources and hold Joseph accountable to his word? Email us! Earth Spirit VW R&R in Cowichan Bay proposed a contest to WIN a VW van with some controversy surrounding it. After receiving all of the entries and the contest closing...they have now changed the rules. It is at best immoral...worst...possibly criminal. If you entered into a contract with them by submitting an application to win Clementine...join with us in making sure that they honour the contest they proposed. www.crankcrankvrooom.ca **UPDATE #1**: As of April 6 at 7:02pm this was added to their webpage listing: www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1744092 "We reserve the prerogative to evolve - that means to interpret the rules, or change the rules or withdraw in the event of unforeseen circumstances - which we do not wish to, nor expect to do - though with the reality of life, this needs to be said. Jurisdiction for all matters will be Cowichan Bay, B.C. Joseph Borkovic or ES VW R&R will not be responsible for any losses, costs nor damages arising from contest entries. Any false, negative, defamatory, derogatory, misleading, unlawful or criminal activity will not be tolerated; will terminate any right or access to the contest; is cause for immediate disqualification; and may be reported and persecuted by local RCMP." This latest update does not appear in the screenshots provided in this listing or with the original rules. ***UPDATE #2***They have edited the ad again in order to add "the small print:" to the changes they very recently made above. This time edited on April 7 at 7:08 pm. I am posting these updates in order to show the almost daily changes that are being made to "the rules" of this contest. I remind you that the contest closed on March 17...with the winner to be announced on April 2. ****UPDATE #3**** The recently added small print rules changed AGAIN last night and now read as follows: "the small print: We reserve the prerogative to evolve - that means to interpret the rules, or change the rules or withdraw in the event of unforeseen circumstances - which we do not wish to, nor expect to do - though with the reality of life, this needs to be said. Jurisdiction for all matters will be Cowichan Bay, B.C. Joseph Borkovic or ES VW R&R will not be responsible for any losses, costs nor damages arising from contest entries. This is a free contest, any consideration for any contract will only take effect between the contest holder and the contest winner. Any false, negative, defamatory, derogatory, misleading, unlawful or criminal activity will not be tolerated; will terminate any right or access to the contest; is cause for immediate disqualification; and may be reported to RCMP" Ad was updated April 8 at 10:12pm I beleive these constant (almost daily) "rule changes" make it painfully obvious what they are attempting to do. All screenshots of the conflicting posts made are available if you email me.

Just been reading about this twosome ripping off someone else with their 10000 van, and then having the brass neck to front it out.
I call it nanaimo disease (ripping folks off, being deceitful, doing as little as possible, being unprofessional) (apologies to good nanaimoites) and my pet hate is car guys ripping folks off.
People like Joseph give the VW scene a terrible name, and they need outing and ending.
Court, as I have discovered, is a legal minefield and not for the uninitiated and calls for a legal expert.
Would it work if folks threw in $50 or so each to see this Joseph in court, have him shamed, make him pay, and importantly, stop him ripping folks off in the future?
I don't buy his 'hobby shop' crap, when he is quoting hourly rates etc. I have a few cars, it's my hobby. If I was working on them to sell for profit, surely I would be a curber, if I wasn't a dealer?
The Dealer Association and any relevant bodies should be made to get their act in gear. Maybe repeated copy and paste letters, forcing these toothless organisations to at least do something.
One thing is for sure, Joseph will continue taking advantage of people until he is stopped.....he needs stopping

It happens elsewhere too. In fact, this site was necessitated when a club member of the nvwclub forum started overly ripping off other club members. He, like Joseph was a smooth talking con man who still has a spell over some people, but from what I can tell it's mostly mainlanders in the hobby that seem to enjoy his "favours" and brown-nosing antics. However with many here, he conducted his dealings unfairly and underhandedly, often bad mouthing people openly and vehemently when they objected to his actions and words. I personally had him ask me for double the money even after money had changed hands and the deal was done("clock-gate" as it was dubbed). Even after "promising" to stay out of each others' ways and not mention past names or transactions, he recently posted on another site calling me and others down, by name, about past dealing he felt ripped off by. All one can do is shake your head over this kind of activity. Con men, when tasting success at first, find it hard to let go. Joseph will be no different, and he has a world-wide Bus-crazed audience to draw from. Just a bit of history….Since, after politely being asked to leave, the member on the nvwclub site didn't. He was VERY adamant that he would never leave, thus forcing us to abandon ship to the calmer seas(sorry for the boat analogy, Russ) of this site, so to speak. It was a very stressful time for everyone and I think we all breathed a sigh of relief to leave the craziness behind. The bad blood lingers, but in time will hopefully be something we can all laugh about.

I'm going to stick up for the good people out there, some of whom are members of this site.
The sad thing is that there are some people out there who buy a decent vehicle, invest lots of time, love and money into it so that they can sell it on later and make a few small dollars. They are good genuine people who do it primarily for their love of the cars / buses. There is absolutely nothing wrong with buying, restoring and selling cars on, or even buying and selling cars privately, provided it is done correctly and honestly. It's just a shame that people like this Joseph fella can't abide by the same rules.

Lets just hope all the local "into VWs for the money people" have finally left the scene. No one needs that kind of attitude in what is supposed to be a fun hobby. I like to think Karma will eventually get those who take advantage of others... With regards to "businesses" that use BS stories to sell their overpriced crappy buses, they will fail once enough people get burned and speak out...
