Well, all the legal stuff is done, a cleaned carb and fuel filter is in with the proper size fuel line, so I am one happy (non ) camper. Goes down the road real fine. Even stops better too now that Karl gave'er a drink of brake fluid So who needs a cord of wood hauled, lol I'll be driving the truck for the summer when I am not, ahem, working….on….the…..boat….

Great news Don. I need someone to work some magic on my bus. Progress has slowed down a little. My son is back to school next week, so hopefully it will pick up then. Looking forward to seeing your new acquisition in person.

Nope Tom, don't need anything. In fact I am not even wanting for anything. I am loving my truck…now my name PICTUP makes sense again But that is a cool LT VW! Thanks Jay. My 8 year search is over…whew! Laurie loves it too! Fixing some niggling safety issues today..horn, leaky brake fluid hose at clamp, emergency brake adjustment, and a good window wash just with sunlight then a rinse for now. Some underside pics. First behind the pedal pan Front crossmember. How about that stock heater tube cover woo-hoo! Middle in front of rear wheels Engine basically as found Pretty clean already Inside the cab, yes I have the kick panels

That certainly is an honest old truck, it must have been stored inside most of it's life to last like that. Now everyone will be calling you to move their stuff. I need one of those to do some hauling too

So here is what is in the garage today...
Don has brought his beloved '70 single cab over for a little front end and brake work. Lets see how that goes...

So here is what is in the garage today...
Don has brought his beloved '70 single cab over for a little front end and brake work. Lets see how that goes... I just wanted to thank Russ for allowing me to coerce him into using his garage. I don't seem to have the space at the moment and a real big plus on this job is Russ' know-how. Not that I would be absolutely lost doing this, but let's just say it would take a looooooooooooot longer and I would be hard pressed to be driving my truck any time soon! As Brent has said before, this is part of what makes owning an air cooled VW so great, community
