As per car show, and me being such a pot stirrer, I just want to say, shouldn't we pick one (1) date and stick to it, and make it an annual event so others can plan on attending?

As per car show, and me being such a pot stirrer, I just want to say, shouldn't we pick one (1) date and stick to it, and make it an annual event so others can plan on attending? In my mind, that is what the goal has been all along. I thought we were trying, but then you said you wanted to have it early when 2 of the last three have been late. The "late" ones seemed to work well with people needing a last "hurrah" of the season. Plus it did not conflict with other summer VW events(i.e. Volksfest, Vintage Meet, and the Great Canadian). So in September, on the weekend after the long weekend is my vote…..

Yes, I agree. It worked awesome. I was referring to our dates bouncing around and us never picking the same weekend. The funny thing is we always agree on everything cause that's the way we are. " ya great, that's awesome, let's do that" kinda mantra. I just think we should pick and stay with one so that outsiders can plan on it, is all.

PS I moved your post so it doesn't get lost plus it is something we should be talking about NOW if it is going to end up actually happening. That, and to not let my IFDP "status" to lapse!

So this will be on 12th or 13th September then? I will probably be riding to Whistler in the Gran Fondo on 12th, so don't expect to be back until 13th. Unless I can get myself really fit by then and ride back on the same day... That's doubtful! I'm also working on the weekends either side of this, so don't try and plan around me!

I agree. Why not let everyone have their input for the next few days, with the plan of making a decision on Tuesday evening?

Was last year 6/29? Maybe this year could follow with Sat 6/27? Just throwing that out there. Last year was a lot of fun at the Rona site.

Ok, so our last show dates were, Oct 6, 2012, Oct 12, 2013, and June 29, 2014 I don't really care what date get decided on, but my vote would be for weekend after Labour Day. My second pick would be end of June, as it's far enough away we could still pull it off

If we are looking at a summer date, what about the last weekend in July (Sunday 26th) It's mid way between Volksfest and GCVW, so we wouldn't be treading on any toes within the community. That would give us lots of time to get our act together. The weather is normally fairly settled at that time of year.
The end of June is still doable, but it is only 6 weeks away.

Personally I'm not a fan of any time in July because I am planning on attending the Vintage Meet in Seattle on July 18th. My vote is still as stated above, Saturday the 12th of September. People will be looking for something to do after having to say goodbye to their summer, when really it has not gone yet….and their cars are still most likely insured and begging for another run

My 1 cents worth : I was kinda' partial to the late June show no biggie though , I'll prob'ly be booked July 11-12 and Aug. 15-16 , and that's all I know! PS having a show toooooo late might leave us with crap weather!

Who's this Tony guy? Is he new here. What kind of vw's does he own. He seems shifty and quiet. Should I pass him a spoon?
