Well said Russ. Seems you forgot to thank yourself…... oh wait, I think that's something I could do lol! Good job in keeping all the names and vehicles in order, and we look forward to the pics! Also thanks to Brent for his MCeeing. This always thankless job was pulled off with aplomb. Without him nobody would have got their goodies! Once again we had people from south Island, north Island and places between helping to provide a great VW community atmosphere. Some even kicked in some more swag for the event, which was very much appreciated! A great variety of vehicles to be seen and drooled over(hope they cleaned up well ). I trust all made it home safe. Now we can start to look forward to next year, then. Cheers! Don

Yes, a great day out. I think I have a little windburn!
Thanks to those who did the organising and to those who travelled from afar in their aircooled V Dubs. Oh, and thanks to Russ for letting me drive his (& Don's) Fasty home for him. It was my first ever drive of a Type 3 and it runs very nicely. Now it's time to leave the PC alone and start fettling the myriad of "tweaks" needed on the bus after it's first real outing in over a year.

OK, here we go...
First up is Don's 1978 tin top Riviera, which was his favourite until his single cab came along...
Next is Goldberg's 1979 Westfalia AUTOMATIC pulling a friend's 1974 Trillium fibreglass trailer. Brent's display was nice until the winds came along!!!
The inside of the Trillium was all original and was very cool in a '70's sort of way. Forgot to take a good picture of the outside however...
Next is my '62 Beryl Green Deluxe which seldom comes out of the garage...
Displayed a few vintage Tonka restorations at the same time...
Next is Clay's '57 up from Duncan. He has owned this car for many years and it always looks great.
This is Devin's two-toned 1966 Beetle. Devin once owned a Glacier Blue 1958 Beetle that I still drool a little bit about.
Chris' 1957 Deluxe Beetle still features its original Coral Red finish. Nice write up in the newspaper about his car recently...
This is Andrew's 1966 Splitty camper. Andrew is the current president of the Victoria VW club.
This is Tom's 1963 bus with massive amounts of modifications to give it the 23 window deluxe microbus look.
Rob's Big Blue '73 hightop Weekender with his matching era minibike. Love that Westy seat material!
More to come...

Well it was a great turnout today, and it was nice to see some familiar faces as well as some new ones. We had 32 VWs registered, and there were a few more in the parking lot that were not. Lots of donated door prizes were given out, and it seems most people were happy with the event. The weather was windy at times, but otherwise quite decent and NO rain! We must give out thanks to the generous donations of prizes from the likes of Don, Reagh, Chris, Bryron, as well as Bavarian Imports, and CanCor (company Reagh works for). And we must also thanks RONA for allowing us to use their parking lot once again. And thanks to those who were able to bring their VWs down to make it into the show that it was. Pictures are loading... and Russ ................there that's better

Here is some more...
HighTopRob was unable to find a model of a high top, so he made his own top. Looked pretty cool too.
Next is Jonny's 1968 Riviera bus. Nice colour on this one.
And Jon Sr. had the 1977 French bus on display. For sale too, and I think he might have sold it as well...
Love the interior!
This is Mike's 1971 Bus. He went for the "patina" look and loves it. Whoops, your VW symbol is upside down, Mike! .
And here is Willow's recent acquisition, an interesting 1972 hightop. We used to call this the Ronald McDonald bus for obvious reasons... Willow is going to change the yellow colour which is a good thing! She has already redone the dashboard in a unique paint scheme, but I forgot to get a picture...
This is VANGO, a much loved 1974 Westfalia owned by Chris of Victoria.
Here is Dean's beautiful 1973 standard Beetle, family owned from new.
Gerry showed his 1955 Beetle with its recent makeover including wheels, beam, suspension, etc.
This '65 Beetle belongs to Chuck from Victoria and it was nice to see it make the trip up island (along with the rest of the Victoria people.)
More to come...

Don's 1967 Notchback was on display. He had a whole bunch of early red-line HotWheels cars inside as well. This brought back some good memories!
His Notch features a tidy engine compartment...
Mark drove his RHD CKD Australian Kombi to the meet. Mark has been having fun swapping drivetrains in and out of this bus...
I hope I got this info correct. This bus belonged to Darryl and Linda from Campbell River and is a 1967 Camper that was a well used ex-surfmobile.
First time I have seen Lori's much loved '63 Beetle, also from up island.
Another shot of Lori's Beetle. Might be a Standard version with that black three spoke steering wheel.
Stan showed up in his 1969 Ghia as usual. Hope he made it back home safely.
I like the shade of green on Terry's 1965 Beetle. Or was it a '66?
I had not seen this '71 SuperBeetle before, belonging to Ralf. It was the only super here today... Very shiny it was.
And here is Gord's 1962 Sunroof, which always looks immaculate.
I freely admit that I am not really a dune buggy person, but this one was very nicely done. Belonging to Scott of Nanaimo, this is a rare Safari Duner model and Scott has the original literature for it as well.
Tom (Busaddict) from Victoria, had his 1974 Westfalia on display. Sorry I didn't have a chance to talk to you, Tom. Man this day went by fast...
And here is the infamous Fasty. Yes it has rusty fenders, but I still have been having a great time driving it every day... Don put a nice blanket inside to hide the ripped up rear seat for the show... Looked good too!
And here is Don's favourite VW, his single cab pickup. With a load of RC VWs, another one of Don's hobbies.
And here is my signature vehicle, the '74 Restfalia.
Found a bunch of '70s typical camping toys and stuff to fill if with too.
Rob had a great time tearing around on his cool mini bike!
Still more...

Not a VW, but I liked it!
One of Don's extensive RC VW fleet...
A '71 bus in the parking lot. Didn't get any details on this one.
See this bus driving around occasionally. It is actually one of the nicer ones out there too. Brent was smitten.
This is a replica 1956 Speedster that just moved here from Ontario.
It belongs to Rob of Qualicum. I have driven one of these replicas before, and it was a lot of fun.
Rob's dog Anna? was pretty cool too.
This '72 belongs to Mark and has travelled extensively. Paint is very eye-catching.
Interior is very bright too.
Well that does it for another Cruise-In. Hope everyone enjoyed themselves, and look forward to doing it again in the future...
