Figured Id start a new thread about my summer trip. Yes, CamperJam was part of it, but it was much more than that.
If there's one thing I truly love in life, its the ability to get up and run away. And since gettin' the VW addiction, I have travelled many places in my buses. This year was no different. After finding out about CamperJam on YouTube, it has been a draw for me to head in that direction, to get off the island, and enjoy points beyond. I have friends and family in the Okanagon, whom I like to visit, but the Jam has gotten me to explore other parts of western Canada. Last year was Drummheller, in Alberta, and this year they picked Golden B.C.
Heres my kind of planned route that I took, but trust me, it was mostly guessing as I came upon the different routes to take .....
I took off on a Sunday, (what a dumass), and trust me, not a good idea, especially at 3 pm. Sittin' on Stewart Ave
So I finally got on the 7, and of course, it left late. I just wanted to be on the mainland in the am so I could get a good and easy start. Figured I'd drive and find a spot to sleep outside of Vancouver.
I know of a couple road side stops, but ended up in Hope. This looked safe as it had a few other motorhomes sleeping there already. Hope tourist center
Headed out along the Hope Princeton hwy, stopping at Bromley Rock for Goldberg to cool off and strectch my legs. It is one of my favorite little places to stop for a rest and snack
My kid and grandkid were headed to Penticton for a wedding, so I was gonna meet them there and hang out for a few days. Seems they stopped in Vernon first and weren't gonna be around till later, so I had to go find a spot to hang out and chill, "down by the river", but I settled for a lake
