Hi everyone. My name is Jason. My wife and I just purchased a 1965 Bug. I have owned bugs on and off since high school. My first was a 1971, primer black, with roll cage and racing interior. It had a custom made Porche 2 barrel carb and manifold. It was a lot of fun and got me hooked on VW's. My second one was a 57 and it was super low, cal style with a big engine in it. Again, more fun! The last one I owned was a bone stock 59. It was in nice shape but I had to sell it to get something more practical. This 65 is in really nice shape and will be our forever bug. We are looking forward to meeting the club and especially going for a cruze one day.

Welcome to the club. There is a club meeting / get together at Tim Hortons at Southgate Mall, 7pm ish this evening. Nothing formal, just a bunch of air cooled guys (and occasionally girls) chatting about their V Dubs. You are very welcome to join us, if you would like.

Great that you found the site Jason! Your 65 sounds schweet. Pretty cool that you work at Cedar Tire too . The last tires I bought there made the daily (Toyota) drive like new again. Like Mark(CrazyBrit) says we are meeting tonight and generally try to do so every two weeks. Online is one thing, but putting faces to usernames is even better for our community. Cruising when the weather is better is on the list. We didn't do enough of it last year….

I would love to see some pictures of your old stock '59. Someday I intend to restore one of these years, or the similar 1958 model... And some pictures of your current VW would be nice too.
