Last Saturday was the show and shine in Ladysmith. Despite warnings of bad weather, the day turned out fine. Numbers attending where significantly lower than last year, but there was a decent turn out of cars. Don and Lori brought the Single Cab and the Iltis. Mark showed up with his Ghia, and I brought the bus in case it rained. Tony didn't risk either of his Beetles to the potential of bad weather, but made it out to the event. There were lots of interesting things to see however.... This old Mercedes had an interesting paint job and very undersized rims (13 inch)! Had a beautiful interior which naturally I forgot to take a picture off... This sand rail was running a 1980's VW Fox motor complete with it's CIS injection system. The engine mounts were actually chains under tension! Owner said it works great and is a lot of fun. He may eventually reinstate air-cooled power. Mark was drooling over this Austin Healy, one of the few British cars he likes. This car was very nicely done. This '65 fastback was my favourite Mustang at the show. Similar drivetrain to the Cougar I once owned. How about a wood-grained Ranchero? This was quite nice condition. I liked this '64 El-Camino. Owner had to make one out of three cars. Now this is cool! This six cylinder engine was in a car almost 100 years old. It was a Franklin, a well made car that were known for being air-cooled! And finally we have this 1956 Thunderbird, that is owned and built by non other than my VW hating Dad!!!
