Got off to a late start, but I went to several garage sales as part of the annual Garagelium in Victoria. I found 2 wood splitting mauls for a quarter a piece, some other wood related implements, a multi screwdriver, a cool mini oil can (never used,) a test wire, 3 metric wrenches 17, 14, and 12mm, and 2 centre punches suitable for brake work. Items in the top row were 25 cents each, the oil can was 50 cents, the remaining items worked out to be 16 cents each. So I spent a total of 3 dollars.

I like cheap stuff. Except VW parts... Cheap in price high in quality, those are decent wrenches. I'd been looking for a mini oil can for a while. Yes, cheap VW parts, I'm trying to recycle more original quality Volkswagen parts these days

And now another installment of "Garage Sale/Thrift Store Finds"... I came across this recently and though I didn't recognize the brand I did realize that it was a quality tool set. Elora turns out to be a well respected tool company, and as you can see here this set was made in "West Germany" which gives it a bit of collectability. Two of the sockets are not Elora and the spark plug socket and that other one on top don't belong, other than that it is complete.

It was priced at $5, although at that point the ratchet was missing. As chance would have it I also bought a big tool box for $20 that had a bunch of random tools inside...and on later inspection I found the ratchet!

Arrrr Score! You made out like a pirate on talk like a Pirate Day! Thanks! It must have been owned by someone who lived in England as there was a page from a 1978 UK newspaper folded under the upper page to keep it from rattling around.

That's a pretty awesome score.
I'm a sentimental history nut, so I love this kind of thing. The old packaging and newspaper is a nice bonus for sure!
BUTE! B

So has anyone ever owned, used, or heard of Elora tools?
