I picked up yet another 50's style Coleman camp stove. I decided it was time to attempt a restoration and see what I could accomplish ... This one is going to a friend, so hopefully by the time I do mine, it'll look "awesome" ..... sorry, couldn't resist

Guts are painted and first coat on box. Dam paint takes too long to dry. Hopefully have it all painted and together this weekend

Under that blue paint was the original green. I'm thinking of putting a special touch to it ... Stay tuned

Good for you, I can't tell what model it is from the pics but it's an older one with the squared end tank. STan

Model 4-M Stan, I have a few That's pretty early Brent? I really don't know as I haven't gotten in to the suitcase collecting at all. The only one I have is an early 413 that I got "empty case" to put my Optimus 535 stove into. It fits like a glove. The 535 Optimus stoves, army edition had a specific case for it (normally the 535 was sold without a case as it was a "kitchen" stove. I am making a faux military case out of the old Coleman stove. I"ll try and dig up a couple of pics of it for you, it's going to be my Westy stove. Stan As you can see I've a lot of work to do.

That will look good. Does it have a latch lock in front? The older ones had wrap around legs that held lid shut
As for you Don, it wasn't, lol.

Yes it has a latch on the front. I'm trying to figure out the engineering to make the front fold down, more like the genuine military version. But a reasonable method that doesn't entail purchasing mega bucks worth of machine tools to do the job, has so far eluded me. STan
