Well the weather was FINALLY nice on Sunday, so it felt good to get the old bus out...
Rebecca and surprisingly Victor came along too. The destination was Moorecroft Park in Nanoose. This was once a private Christian campground, but has since become a regional park. The old campgrounds were also rented in the past, and I camped there twice when I was in Scouts back in the day. I remember a couple of things about the place back then. Lots of cabins that were kind of falling apart. Lots of fun around the campfire. And lots of big fat snakes! More on this later...
Moorecroft Park is located right on the waterfront, with its own bay and several rocky beaches. The view is typical of most parks on the East coast of the island.
Now back to those snakes. Would they still be there like they were the last time I was here 40 years ago??? If you are at all squeamish, then don't scroll down...
Yup, there was a big fat snake lying right there on the trail gobbling down a frog! Gross. But I had to take a picture, didn't I. Rebecca would not come near it...
Photobucket has stalled again, so you will have to wait for second gross snake picture...

First off, nice to see your crew out together enjoying our awesome island and your awesome bus.
Second, will that snake ever choke down that frog? The clever little hoppers got hits arms out like a boss!

Photobucket spit out one more picture... Pretty sure that fatty snake eventually managed to swallow that frog. They say that the world's frogs are in decline. Now you know why...

So Photobucket finally spit out the last picture... We stopped at Dad's on the way back home and Don happened to be there with his single cab. Nice bay family shot...
