So the weather was great again on the weekend, and it was time for some more exploring. My wife's friend from Korea was visiting, so we thought we would show her some of the cool local-ish parks.
Bo-kyung on the right thought the bus was very cool as she had never ridden in such an old vehicle. There is not much of a vintage VW scene in Korea, unlike other parts of Asia.
We had already visited Piper's Lagoon, Neck point, Parksville Beach and of course Whiskey Creek for ice creams when this picture was taken...
A quick trip to Coombs followed, which is never the same without Funbugz being there... The pies for sale in the main store look good but at $18.00 each, I ain't buying them...
Now to our final destination, Englishman River Falls. Pictures don't quite convey how nice this park is. Previous heavy rains meant lots of waterfall action despite the weekends beautiful weather.
This is the view from the other side of the main bridge. Nice to hear the roar of the waterfall.
This is the view from the lower part of the park. Swimming is ok in this area, but that water looked way to cold to me!
The air was very cool down at the water level. There is a fair climb back to the parking area from this point and the temperature difference was amazing. Overall a nice day trip out in the bus. Bo-kyung asked if she could go out in the bus again, the next time she comes back to Canada. "Sure, I will always have it" was my none too surprising reply. After leaving the park, we had to have a quick stop at Reagh's place. Forgot to take a picture of Hightop Rob's engine purring away. Going to be a great summer of VW fun!
