How come someone hasn't removed the old school internal fan assembly (and still look stock) and replaced it with electric fans (fan) , that would seem to be a way better cooling setup and waste less hp too?!?!

Have seen pictures of electric fans on a couple of drag Beetles. Think I read somewhere that electric fans just can't compete with the original fan for continuous use.

I would prefer the old school side scoop cut into the side of the bus with an aftermarket oil cooler beside the opening.

Heya Tony. I ve thought of this as well as many others. As far as I know theres a few guys with pancake style engines that run an electric setup. I ve followed a couple of guys on the magical inter web and have been amazed by the progress. Although....most set ups look like ass and lots of work......testing..written data sheets formulas and most important......TIME. All of this just to get the same results as a stock puma style shroud with all the tin? Put that stock shit back and move on IMO. YES.......SO SAYS THE GUY DEALING WITH PORSCHE FAN SHROUD PISS OFF ISSUE NUMBER 218!

Haha , what would you do with all your time if you weren't constantly dealing with car issues?
