Thanks for everyone's participation today! The long haul folks were a very welcome addition and I was pleased to see some new local people(notably Dennis in his orange Westy and Michelle in her newly acquired nice 72 White/Red Westy) find their way there too. I for one had a great time and I am hoping others did too! Many thanks to Rob for handling set-up, registration etc while Russ and I ferried cars. Reagh did a great job of organizing the loot to give away. Brent was in fine form, although I think he needs some better jokes . Thanks to all the fellows already mentioned for their contributions to the give-aways too! I am hoping next year we may be able to coerce Willow to come up with a piece of art for a raffle prize..what do you say Willow, interested? Darryl did a great job of a bunch of decals, both MIACVW Cruise In 2017 and other VW oriented types. Everyone was very happy to receive them and I hope you get some orders from your generosity Darryl! I know I plan to get more orders in All VWs had something special today and it was really cool to see the diversity! Brent had me wanting to revisit my youth and get a mini bike, Thornben and Femke made me want to go traveling(ahh, youth!) and all Russ' cars had me thinking I better start trying harder(or at least wash my working trucks once in a while ). I hope everyone was happy with the way the giving prizes away was conducted. As it has been in previous years it seemed like most were happy to chose their token of appreciation for attending. The raffles also went well and in all put into the kitty for next year's prizes was $135! I will be keeping my eye out for some cool stuff Cheers, Don PS Russ took a full complement of pics I am sure and we will all await the results(get that computer fixed Russ ). I took some general pics after the prizes and will post them soon.

Hopefully my computer will work tomorrow... We did have a great day today with a decent turnout. In the end there were 30 cars there, although not all of them at the same time. Thanks to all that made this event possible, and thanks to RONA for allowing us to borrow their parking lot once again... Pictures and descriptions will hopefully be up soon. And Don, your camera sucks...

A big thank you to all the people who made the event possible, and thanks for the awesome giveaways! Here are some random pics which I hope capture activity at the cruise in. I know Russ will post his detailed pics later. Below: Willow's bus sporting a faux rust look she created herself and was working on at the show. Below: Shorty, Don's single cab, had the job of looking after the prize booty. Below: Dennis... Dennis, is that you? Nice custom orange on your treasured bus which is in great condition. Below: The Reagh-Mobile was in fine form. Below: MIAC, the Volkswagen How-To People Below: Darryl's 1973 Westfalia is a happy story of a local bus that was off the road but found its way back into service through kindness and generosity. Now to get that muffler fixed Below: Our German friends Thornben and Femke have a 1974 Westfalia called "Fred" they bought for their travels here in Canada. A solid machine, Rob kindly gave it a tune up during the cruise in, I wondered what that revving sound was Below: Customized sticker alert, "HighTopRob" Below: Crazybrit's cool splitty makes an appearance... Below: I've always liked this bus, and it too is a happy local vehicle...thanks Russ! Below: If there were a prize for accessorizing Brent would be the winner. Below: I'm waiting for the Hot Wheels version... Below: Russ...Bus, Russ...Buss...the Russ Buss, AKA Restfalia! Below: Promotional consideration provided by Rona, thanks for hosting the show! Below: "You talkin' to me? You talkin' to me? You talkin' to me?" Below: The other Tom's vintage bus, oh this is a nice custom job. Below: Fred! You handsome devil! Below: Prizes, prizes, and more PRIZES!!! Everyone took away some cooool VW items...Thanks! Nice pics Tom. Mine unfortunately won't be up for some time. My computer was poked and prodded by a tech guy and was pronounced unusable without a full on slate cleaning. The hard drive will be removed to release my stored pictures on it, then everything restored to original settings once again. This will be this weekend at the absolute earliest... Oh joy...

Well done team! Soooo sorry i missed it. So far my Time in the south of France has been a bust regarding VWs. I did see a really sweet Bay Doka yesterday, but other than that, it's all water cooled modern tiny VW cars. The streets here are so small, anything bigger than a micra is too big. I'm off to Holland next week where I know I'll have better luck scouting Aircoolers. Thanks for making the show happen folks. I'm proud to be a Mid-Islander!

I think I'm being squeezed out of the organization , my bug didn't even make it into the photo section , I guess I'll have to join the water coolers!
