So FINALLY got a little bit accomplshed this weekend... Painted the replacement intake manifold. This one is from a '68-'69 1500, and has a 2mm bigger diameter than the old 1300 manifold. Feel the power!!!

Remember the old emission controls throttle valve positioner/altitude corrector? I assume that port is for that unit.

Sooo, finally going back together again. No real issues except dropping a screw into the heater box opening. Guess that is going to be staying there awhile... In the end I went with the stock 1966 30 Pict 1 and matching distributor. A stock 1600 single port uses the 30 Pict 3 which is an inferior carb in most respects. The dual port 34 Pict carbs are even worse. It runs very nice the way it is, and will remain this way. Had a brief drive to Mom's. Then it started to sprinkle, so back into the dry garage it went! At least the drive was long enough to know that the exhaust is nice and quiet now...
