Another shot of that '64 Ghia. Yes I liked it, although if I owned it, you know it would have fatter whitewalls... Rob has been cruising around extensively in his gray '69 and is enjoying it! This Beryl Green '62 Deluxe is likely my favourite VW. And yes I LOVE the colour. Reagh is enjoying his '69 Notchback, which goes very well with its automatic trans. A very nice cruiser! Another '64 Ghia, this one is a perennial work in progress. I gotta bolt on that Volvo mirror this year... This '72 Canadian Custom model has an interesting history. And future, too. Brent had his old bus on display, and for the right price you could take it off his hands. Wonder if he misses it yet??? I forgot who owned this late Westfalia. As usual... These late Westy's are my favourite bus, and this is my favourite colour too. Wish I had one, oh wait, never mind... David's Carat, is a very special VW. I couldn't get a great picture of it, as too many people were around it at the time... The interior has been extensively redone, in an OEM plus style. Very classy, and my Mom thought it was the nicest interior there... This late bay is Lances' latest acquisition. Very low it is... just the way he likes it. And there it is, the mighty Restfalia. My signature VW, and the one I will never part with. Ever. Also had the "72 Dorper Touring Camper there as well. This was bought off a long term customer eleven years ago now. Actually all but one of my VWs at the show were once owned by customers of the shop. Imagine that... HighTopRob's Big Blue was in attendance as well. Rob ain't likely to ever sell that one either! Brent's new bus, formerly John's bus, and if you go back far enough, formerly my bus. Known as the "French" bus, this Euro spec import is full of cool features. Brent is making a few changes to better accommodate his lifestyle... Including putting the usual "stuff", up on the roof rack. The difference is Brent will actually use those items when he goes camping... Doug's '69 Westfalia also gets a lot of camping use too, and he is contemplating a cross Canada trip in it too! This '60's Beetle belongs to Ben?, but I didn't get any other details... Time for bed according to wifey, so the rest of the pictures will be up tomorrow...

Back again... Here is a '75 Westfalia in one of the more unusual colours available. For sale too, around 30 large! I quite liked the interior. This bus has been in the family for decades and was bought by the current owner's father. They should keep it! This highly modified bus is a sharp looker, and one of the Victoria crowd. Another well loved camper van that gets around... Jim is enjoying his split with friends. Cooked himself a great smelling breaky too. This patina Beetle shown earlier, had some interesting Lucas headlights installed. Another late Westfalia with alloy rims. Still lots of these on the road... I am not that into convertible Beetles, but this mid '60's model was very nice. I don't remember seeing this one before either... This is Pierre's Beetle, and it is looking good. I like the interesting colour on this one. Some people brought their pets too, including this cute puddy-tat. It seemed to enjoy playing with the various doggies as well. Long term customer Ray, bought this interesting Euro spec transporter synchro TDI. Pretty interesting unit. Dean's all original Beetle was looking fantastic as usual. Drives like a dream too! I am not sure of the current owner of this '67, but we all know it as Peter Beltgen's old VW of Bow-Wow fame. Still looks amazing after all these years... Nice to see Tom's bus up from Victoria. Tom is a regular contributor to this site and our Victoria connection. This splittie camper showed up parked across the road. Don't have any other info. The big bad boss-man, Jeff, parked his Thing on the grass in front of the office. Once one of Reagh's fleet, this is now the pride and joy of Jeff's wife. And she will never part with it. Ever! That is Joe's bus hiding in the background... It wasn't all German cars however. Representing Sweden was John's neat old Volvo wagon. Wagons are popular classics nowadays, and these old Volvos have quite a following. It ain't a VW, but Klyntt's 1981 Chevrolet big block looks and sounds fine! He could lay unlimited smokie bakers if he wished. Jeff also has a 1965 Ford truck that was built by his Grandpa. It features a 5.0 l Mustang engine. A turbo may be in the future as well... Now some water-cooled VW's. Everyone talked about this bagged Golf sitting very low. Many also liked this R32 model in a vibrant Purple... A highly modified 16 Valve Mk 2. Don described this as the definition of "bling". They were very bright! Continued...

This was my favourite water-cooled VW at the show. Gerry's Fahrenheit edition GTI only has 11,000 km on the clock, and is a very rare VW in like new condition. For Sale too, if only I had lotsa dough... This is what the water-cooled crowd gets up to... A wrapped Benz of some kind or another... Stan's brought his new Jetta, as old Betsy ain't quite ready just yet... Mark 5 GTI's are not a bad looking car at all. A couple of those Porsche were in attendance. A classic 911 was one. And a mean looking 928 was the other. This model was actually meant to replace the 911, but that never happened... My co-worker Aman, brought his AMG Mercedes to the event. And why not given it features 540 hp from its V8 engine. Really. Kieran pulled a late night, to finish the latest wrap on his daily driver Jetta. Very bright it is, and changes colour as you walk around it. David also had brought his rare Vanagon Westfalia Syncro. Very pricey unit when new, and still is today... Continued...

Joe has been working to get his bus running for awhile now. It was for sale, but now that it is back on the road again, well maybe, maybe not... Tony was able to make it in his '61. Good to see the VW back on the road again as it makes pretty much everyone smile. Or maybe it is Tony that makes everyone smile... Better late then never was Brian in his '72 Ghia. It turned out very nice and he is enjoying the drive... Over all it was a great day and fantastic turn-out of nice cars. Will we do it again next year? The bosses say, you bet! And of course a thanks go out to all that made this possible. Including Bavarian Imports, Wrapture Customs, Harbourview Volkswagen, various suppliers, those individuals who donated door prizes, and the group of individuals in the Mid-Island Air-Cooled Volkswagen club that organized much of this. Thanks especially to Don, Reagh, Rob, Stan, Brent (who is always fantastic as the MC), and of course Goldberg our most famous ambassador to the community. And special thanks to Tony, whose generous donation of the main raffle prize helped us raise some cash to buy more good door prizes for the next year! See you all again in 2020!

I am not sure of the current owner of this '67, but we all know it as Peter Beltgen's old VW of Bow-Wow fame. Still looks amazing after all these years... The owner is David Seager. When he pulled in, I heard so many folks say "Hey there's Peter's Bug". So I asked him, I says to him, I says, how does it feel knowing that everyone refers to this car as Peter's Bug? He says he's OK with it. It is Peter's Bug.

Thanks for the pictures, Tom. I realized after, I forgot to get a pic of Don's single cab and the loot table, and the shorty truck. Glad you took nice quality shots of these and others too!
