Mid way through rebuilding a 75 Super Beetle convertible and looking to make contacts with the VW community on VI. My Beetle and I live happily in the Comox Valley. Since it's too cold to spend too much time in the shed it's a good time to figure out how to put all the parts that came in boxes together by looking at youtube videos and Samba postings;truthfully, this is a cry for help! Bought my project in bits and pieces a year ago and am now finding a lot is missing!

Parts are out there. There are a few people on this site that might have what you need. Is the car still fuel injected, or has it been converted to carbs? There is a thread on here about recommissioning a fuel injected '76 Super Beetle convertible and what was involved to make it go (and stop). I will put up a link shortly...

Thanks for the head's up on the local club and the thread on the super beetle project. The photos are helpfull as I'm rewiring the car now and when I got it the loom was pulled out and balled up. Wan't sure how to run everything. The shots of the frunk from the thread are very helpful.

If you're working on the loom, are you aware of the wiring diagrams on thesamba? They're full colour and nice and easy to follow. I have then printed and laminated for both of my cars. They make my life a lot easier with old VW electrical gremlins! www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/info/wiringt1.php

Went to load up some photos but the process is way outa my league! Since you're in Courtenay let's connect sometime and I'll show you how it's progressing. Turning the Beetle into an electric with the EV West components and the motor transplant is done. Very cool thing to show off.

Allo, posted some pics of my project on the Comox Valley facebook group if you want to check it out. Cheers. Sorry, not going there. We exist here for a reason, and that is to have active members on this site, not to be told where they are deciding to hang out instead.

Just so everyone knows, maintaining an active website is a lot of work these days. All of us in the local VW community like to see what is going on, and we strive to keep the content at least somewhat interesting. It is no secret, that many websites, especially car based ones, have fallen due to the all-powerful pull of Facebook. For this reason, we would really appreciate it if you could try to put some of your content here for the rest of us to see it. The use of IMGUR for hosting pictures is quite easy to use, and storage is unlimited. And I know this because I am currently up to 5033 images stored there, and 99% of those are linked to this site. And not one of them is found on Facebook...
