I see Don is very fond of Faceplant😈 I have never made any bones otherwise. FB is not a format that is well suited to archiving information for others to look at and find again in a logical fashion(well, to clarify, at least not in my mind anyway). Yes, it takes a bit more effort to post here, but when one does it shows that they are interested in being part of the group, not merely boasting what they own or have done. Of course this is all IMFHO, so it really is neither here nor there(see what I did there ).

Don and I agree on our opinion of facebook. My son, as many of you know has been working in the tech sector for a couple of decades. He is employed by EA Sports and is currently their liason with Microsoft, Google, Disney, etc. etc. etc. As someone who meets with reps from all those companies at the highest level meetings, he gets to converse with them on many tech topics. He cannot of course relate any of the specifics of those conversations, but has strongly advised us to avoid facebook at any cost. I have already severed contact with another forum over their penchant for moving most of their communications to facebook, and am seriously considering the same action with a local ham radio club. I know some things about facebook that would curl a thinking person's hair and would strongly advise any group to educate themselves about facebook before learning to say baaaaa baaaaaa. Stan

....Yes, you're entitled to your opinions, but I've always said, opinions are like a__holes. Everyone's got one and some stink..... This is a community forum which will attract all kinds. Let's not scare them away before they have a chance to join Kind of an ironic comment don't you think Brent? Maybe some in the community would rather stay away from forums that allow profanity? Stan

Nice looking cabrio. I'm looking forward to seeing this one and it's electric powerplant. It's great to see someone doing something outside of the box in the VW world.

You guys sounds like a bunch of crotchety old men. Yes, you're entitled to your opinions, but I've always said, opinions are like a__holes. Everyone's got one and some stink. Just because you don't agree with things ppl say or do doesn't make it cool to rant away with your beliefs. It's a great way to keep new ppl from joining and finding this great site. I believe in acceptance and restraint of pen and tongue. This is a community forum which will attract all kinds. Let's not scare them away before they have a chance to join I don't think anyone is trying to scare anyone away....The joiner of this forum starting this thread boldly stated that he/she was unwilling to go the extra mile to post pictures and instead opted to post on another site. Seems to me the work of being part of this website scared the poster away, not anything said by members here.

Uh, this thread seems to have devolved into a "I love/hate Facebook", which was NOT the intention. I previously made mention that I hoped the person that started this thread would try to link some pictures onto this site for all to see, the "all" meaning those of us on this site. Those of you who regularly use Facebook, might not be aware that viewing anything on Facebook is very difficult for those that are not actually registered users of that site. Most other sites that you can visit, you can often view without registering for them. Facebook is not like that; if you are not registered, Facebook aggressively blocks out much of the screen, making it difficult to view anything. As a reminder, our own MIACVW site is based on free software, and there is not enough bandwidth to store pictures. This is why pictures must be linked to an external source such as IMGUR. This cannot be helped, and yes it is a bit more involved than posting pictures on Facebook. At least if linked on this site, anyone can view them, without restrictions. That is the reason for suggesting to the original poster to try and link pictures directly here. And yes, after seeing what a sh*tshow this thread has turned into, I have no doubt the original poster won't be back either...

I used to post pictures often until the website was filled up to it's allotted available data limit. It took me over an hour to post one picture a few years back so now I just do words.
