Lots of complaints on the Samba about why was this car restored anyway. And spending $100,000 to do it and try to get $70,000 out of it is crazy...

That is a nice looking Early Bay. Too bad about the high top(sorry Rob), especially considering it is a Deluxe too! Driving an Early Bay is underpowered at the best of times, let alone with the windage from that high roof! It would be interesting to see how the coefficient of drag increases with the fibreglass. Then again, maybe that high top saved it's life by making it a camping only vehicle on good days, back in Canada's rust belt

I'm afraid my Wedge days are over Tom, lol! But you got me pegged on the look I like But I don't much like conflict…go figure. Here is one for people who like muscle cars, but also like VW's….(ahem, Mr. Alltypes ). A lot of work, but VolkTales will be throwing up a little bit when he sees this--guaranteed! seattle.craigslist.org/sno/ctd/4770546257.htmlAnd so we will always be able to see it: DESCRIPTION: Here's a 1964 VW Beetle Convertible body widened 12" and placed on a 1973 Chevelle frame and suspension, 454, 4 speed, Power disc brakes, Power steering. Chevelle bucket seats and console, Heavy duty radiator and electric fan. Mooneyes fuel tank, Air compressor to power the train horn. Really fun to drive, A real head turner! California built, Titled as a 1973 VW.
