There has been some concern on the Samba about German Supply in the last little while. Something about not responding to e-mails... With regards to which caliper fits what side: the style with two bleeders can be fitted to either side in terms of the casting. The position of the cutouts in the pistons will determine which side it was installed on. If you are going to fully rebuild them, then it does not matter which side you put it on as long as you orient the cutouts correctly. Bentley does show this, but you really need those original style thin shims on hand to determine exact location. Bad luck on that thread in the spindle... EDIT. Does that CIP price ever look like a RIPOFF! Thank you for that Russ, the '73 is on hold for the moment, luckily I have another to drive meanwhile

Are you ATE or Girling? I keep both sets of rebuild kits in stock. Girling - $20/kit. (Made by FAG) ATE - $35/kit. (OE VW) I think they're Girling, I don't see ATE anywhere. Where are you bobloblaw? Tom, it's me.

Locator bolt question: I've seen references to the locator bolt for calipers on a 73-79 bus as being upper and sometimes lower (as in Bentley) Are some late bays one or the other? I'm working on the '73 again, as you may recall I had an upper locator bolt strip while removing the passenger side caliper. I suspect it may have been mis-threaded somehow. When reassembling the driver's side for educational purposes I found the locating bolt would only work in the lower caliper hole.
