Yup, Nelson is a nice place,..... in the summer. Not so nice in the winter. The sun doesn't shine on it for very long during the day. They also have some very quirky people that live there. Quirky people are sometimes nice, sometimes not. They have a problem with homeless youth congregating there sometimes, getting pretty obnoxious with their begging routines. It's also very isolated like you mentioned. If you want to fly out or in you have to drive to Cranbrook or Kelowna. Not a nice drive in the winter. Stan

Hey Brent, what a trip! I've wanted to see the Sandon bus collection for a while now, I wonder if they'll ever get restored?

Society has definately changed over the decades for sure, but these issues are everywhere. Them buses are cool, and quite the sight to see after driving up a gravel road for quite a distance. I dunno what their plans are, they were busy setting up for a big music festival. Thanks Don, it's actually pretty cool reliving the trip thru pics and having to write something about them

We spent about a week in Nelson. I spent the first few days at the Provincial there, and I might add, definately a great place to stop. I was meeting a friend of mine from Cranbrook, who was getting married there. I planned on being early to check things out and to help set up the wedding. He rented a VRBO, right on the lake. It was amazing.

It was a shit load of work. A enclosed 20' trailer, full of rental crap for a wedding. And all of it had to be hand carried down to the beach area. It took the two of us most of the day.

Us guys needed a break, and last year we tried bmx riding in a skate park. A friend of ours is quite the pro and always brings his bike. We found out where the Nelson park was, and we were off ....

Oh yea, the rental was owned by some dude who has some connections in Nelson. Turns out he was the chauffuer for Steve Martin while he was there filming Roxanne. this was in a wall in one of the bedrooms and the chair was in there too

Ok, so we had the wedding day, went for pics, and then met up with some of the boys to cruise Nelson, honk some horns and fill the town with smiles
