Sorry, I'm full time Dad right now. The kids have no interest in old cars, probably because they don't have a gaming screen on-board or because they can't kick them into a net. I'm going to console myself by working on my bus whilst the kids play...😢😭 I will get to FunBugz one day.

Sooo, here are a few pics from today's get together at Funbugz... It was good to see Terry's '65 again. Shawn came down island in his '62 as well. Another Anthracite Beetle is Gregg's '69. Rob's Oval made lots of noise as he left. Fun noises that is... A couple of burnouts, perhaps??? Kieran brought his water cooled Jetta wagon. He has a much cooler Lupo however... That is Goldberg's bus in the background... I brought up the '62 Beryl Green Beetle today. Only 40 hp, but still fun to drive. Of course that is Rob's Big Blue in the background... The GTI and the Notch were hanging outside today. Continued...

Reagh's Oval project is now stored here as well. Needs some serious reassembly... Think it is mounted on a later IRS pan. Previous owner was going to dump a Subie in it, but that ain't going to happen now! Some parts VWs are going on display in the compound as "Field of Dreams" projects. Although one of them might cause a nightmare or two... Even the nastiest of parts cars, can have some goodies. This '69 still has the gas heater firmly in place... A couple more future projects??? The white one has a Hanover top on it which is quite neat... This is cool. It is a genuine VW dealership parts hauler complete with logos. Its diesel engine was used as practice for the various apprentices that went though this shop. Apparently it has been rebuilt multiple times in it's life. Not surprisingly, after sitting for many years it started right up! So why is this cool little truck not being fixed up and cruising around in??? Oh my! No wonder it was donated. Pretty sure this one won't be seeing the road again, but still looks good as a static display... Doggies make me happy, and friendly Wesley was very nice. Goldberg was a bit grumpy today, but we love him as always... Thanks Reagh, for hosting another great get together, and thanks to those that showed up. I did miss a few pictures including an orange and white splitty that showed up a bit later... Sorry for missing that...

Thanks for the pictures Russ. It was great to hangout with everyone again. We are doing it again this coming Sunday from 12-4, so if you need your bi-weekly VW fix, come join us. Not many weekends left before the fall weather arrives, and our cruisers get tucked away for the winter.

So a few more pictures from the last get together at Reagh's... There is Paul's tin top camper. He is thinking of returning the spare to the inside of the bus and display the VW symbol proudly on the front again... This orange mid '70's bus belongs to Chris, and I now realize I did not have a chance to talk to him... Jim set up camp and seemed to be having a good time... Gregg brought up his Anthracite Beetle, and that is Stan's Jetta in the background. Stan is getting close to driving his bus now! I came up to the meet with Don, who finally found time to get his mighty Single cab out for a trip. Looked good parked next to Reagh's beloved Double cab. And look! Rob "cruised" up in his newly acquired '66! Shame the rat poop didn't blow away on the trip... Later Peter cruised up in his neat old '53 Beetle. I always enjoy looking at the features of this very late split window Beetle. I did manage to miss taking of picture of Harry's single cab split truck however. A shame because it is very nice... Reagh has added a couple of displays to the compound. This type four powered sand buggy is interesting. It would be a blast to drive, except the previous owner had too much fun and blew the transmission up. Oh well... The "Camo" bus is a little bit rough, and is sagging very low in the back. That is because it has at least three engines inside of it... A flat 12 VW! Cool! Overall it was fun, and good to hang out a bit more. Reagh is hoping to have another one of these get togethers in another two weeks depending on what the weather is doing. He will update this when we get closer to that time....

Weather forecast looks good for this Sunday. If there are no objections or other events, Funbugz will open again for an informal, social distancing cruise-in. Sunday October 4th, from 12-4pm. Fall rains could be just around the corner, so this will most likely be the last opportunity to get together at Funbugz until next April. Hope to see everyone cruising out, cheers.
