“We should all meet somewhere and cruise up to FunBugz on Sunday” — I’ll throw out, “Chapters around noon” —
Reagh’s official invitation
Just an update to confirm our invitation to an informal/distancing cruise-in to the new Funbugz location. We are 75% finished setting up the displays, so everyone is welcome to cruise on down for a sneak peek. Please bring your portable chairs and masks to respect the Covid prevention protocols. There is plenty of room in our parking lot for everyone. We will be open from 12-4, Sunday August 23, 2020. Looking forward to catching up with all the VW enthusiasts. Not many events or shows or cruises this year...so we hope this get together will fill a small part of the void.
Funbugz 1343-Alberni Hwy, unit 27. (Pinetree Centre).

Gah. It's too bad I'm away that weekend. Still have tonnes of covid-safe (aka: individually wrapped) food from the Lotus club visiting this past weekend. Could have hosted a visit to Port Alberni in combination!

Thank you to everyone for coming to our sneak peek/ cruise-in ! That was a great way to enjoy some VW camaraderie and still be Covid responsible. We will continue building the displays and are more than willing to have a regular cruise-in every 2 weeks, if there is interest.

Sooo, I have been busy but it is time to finally upload some pictures. Only problem is my freezing from my trip to the dentist is wearing off and it it not pleasant. So very light on the comments today... This is at the start, when a few of us met at Chapter's parking lot. Nice looking Ghia. Brent and Goldberg were there of course. Brent has finally gotten his bus to where he wants it to be... The Bosswoman's Thing, and a customer's buggy, and somebody's orange bus... Buggy and trailer are neat. Owner's dog was awesome too! This Thing is scheduled to receive some body and paint work this year... Rob's Oval is looking very sweet. Rob has a "new" project soon that will be quite interesting... Continued...

This was the first time I have seen this Thing which belongs to Reagh's buddy Rory (not sure if that is how he spells his name). Reagh's Notch is still being enjoyed as well. A '73 bus I have not seen before. HighTopRob's bus is also a '73, and seems to be behaving itself. Think this was a '60 Beetle. Might be wrong. Jim with a friend and his splitty bus. This is Eddie's oval project. Didn't get the dog's name, but he was friendly and one of many friendly dogs at the event. I had not seen this '71 Westfalia before. I liked it too and it is a well enjoyed bus. Gregg showed up in his Anthracite Beetle as well. This old English Ford Prefect has a Type 1 engine stuffed in the back... Nice oval showed up a bit later... And so did this early Stingray. I did not see under the hood. But wished I did because... ...because that would be something to behold... And I don't know who brought this FJ... But it was in beautiful shape and you just know I like it... So overall it was a good day and Reagh's hospitality was enjoyed by all. No pictures of the inside, because you REALLY need to go see what Reagh has stashed away in there. Thanks to Reagh, Rori, Dori, and Rob for putting this together and we all wish them the best!

For those of us who were unable to attend it's great to see all the cars. HTR's bus looks newer every time I see it Reagh's Notch looks great, and tell us more about that Ford Prefect with the VW engine. Thank you Russ!

Just a reminder that Sunday September 6th, from 12-4 pm, will be the next informal Funbugz cruise-in. The forecast looks good, so we hope everyone will drop by for an informal/distancing get together. 1343-Alberni Hwy, unit 27. (Pinetree Centre)
