So the time has come to get a bit more serious about my upcoming winter projects and I thought I better get some parts to the machine shop. So in to the parts pile I went. After digging around I have enough parts to do 2 motors. So 1 will be a 1776 stock valve size hemi cut heads and will be about 7.5 cr engle W100 cam CW crank and a set of 1.25 ratio rockers in a German dual relief case that will be bored for 90.5's & full flowed. We will run dual Kadron carbs on it. The other for my 56 will be a 2017 78.4 x 90.5 Engle K8 cam, 040 vw casting big valve dual spring heads with Dport intakes &1.4 rockers. Stock rods lightend flywheel and HD Clutch. I am planning to rob the tin off of my black bug and run a set of new 44mm IDF's The 69 has the rebuilt hotbox waiting to be Installed. The 56 is waiting for it's new "freeway Flyer" my builder said after race season for that one. So I will be busy...

You WILL be busy! Just remember to measure and check every new part you are going to install. Something we just have to do nowadays... And document everything on the site.

My builder is in Vancouver His Name is Terry H (user name). I found him through the airspeed site. He was reccomend by a couple guys I know. 30 years + experience. He built the transaxle in my black car is the roumor I heard from the P.O. I feel like I got great service and a verry fair price. I was impressed with his shop. Clean and set up nice for a home shop. That being said I have not put the type1 IRS I just had built in my 69 yet.

I have only delt with Terry recently. I don't mean to advertise for him either. He does work a full time job as well as race. So out of respect for Terry I can ask him if he minds that I give his number to you? Or you can give me your info and I can pass it on to him. Lastly you can look up and message Terry H on the Airspeed Forum. That's how I found him. Cheers Rob Sannes

So I have been hyper posting lately about my projects and thought. hey why stop? I figured I need a run stand to do break ins and testing and fix my inevitable leaks easier. I thought about buying one but that would cost actual money and since I bought the black bug I'm a bit short. I need to pay people who won't take old parts or chicken eggs as payment with real money. So Ifigured I would make one myself. Make it out of what? I had a old weight machine, that didn't work! Obviously those who know me can attest to that. So I scrapped it This stand will be made to use a core type 1 transaxle, but for mock up I used my newly rebuilt prostreet transaxle..... So these pics are just of the parts from the weight machine and very rough mockup. I will need to add a couple gussets plumb and wire. I'm hoping it will be sturdy enough functional and most importantly cost no cash to build.

There seems to be a lot of useless exercise equipment around my house too. Nice to see them being repurposed for something useful!!!

So I got a nice little jem. This is a bosch 019 screamer distributor same as what would have been found on many earlier split buses. I am planning on installing this on my 1776 build with dual kadrons After disassembly I cleaned it up a bit and the advance mechanism started moving freely. This blue screamer is nothing more than a sprayed blue standard Black 019 thay didn't even remove the condenser or clips before it was sprayed hammertone blue. There are a couple paper insulator parts that will need to be sourced I have a couple parts distributors I can look and see if they can donate or just make something to fit. So after just a half hour it's pretty clean I am considering painting it but the blue paint is a bit elusive from what I hear, or I could spray it black not sure yet. The Tag is amazing and the shaft is a like new fit. Just some new points, condenser and a cap and rotor this thing should be ready to spark up. Thanks Russ!

Glad you like it. I know I would never have got around to doing anything with it anyway. Nice to see it getting some TLC...
