Been out for a couple quick drives. Has been pretty good. I had a funny scare with my black box. I wanted to bump up the rev limiter to 6000 rpm from 4000. I was on pulled over to the side and idling while looking at my computer. Changed the rev limit and it died and didn't want to restart. I am completely ignorant to doing maps for it. I just pulled the dual carb file they give with it reloaded it and set the rev limit to 6000 it fired right up and away I went. The 2017 is such a nice engine for me. The power is good down low but once it gets to 3500 and the top end starts come on it feels great. I have only had it up to 5500 rpm so far. The 3.88 ring gear is making highway speed pretty easy. I was worried about keeping it cool but the dipstick touch test is fine I can grap and hold no problem at all. The car is equipped with a 96 plate masa cooler that has a fan but have not heard it come on yet with this engine. The fan did come on with the 2332 that was in it while driving. I am feeling the urge to change up some things on the front suspension. lift it up sway bar and some bigger tires nothing crazy, but maybe??

Your car looks amazing Rob. Thanks it has to look good if I want to park it next to your van. I do need to wash it. It is so dirty from sitting over winter.

Ha ha. They'll look good together. Just don't try racing me - you'd never keep up...

I have the heavy duty 3/4 inch sway bar in the front of my lowered 65 beetle it has many large gouges and scratches from hitting things over the last 23 years that I am sure that it has saved my front clip many times over.
