It is 12 pages of pissing match and a few pages of good info. Hahahaha. Yup, must be the samba. The only thing that could make your description better is a note about Dale popping in to piss on anything not OEM I'd say buck up and buy the working ignitor for the distributor you like. It's only money, right?

Tolls if you don't understand it, it must be complete garbage. Don't reach out for help or research the problem just go ahead and bash a product or company.
Got a note from Mark at CB he says/asks
"The Igniter 2 is a little more sensitive to RF noise from the ignition system. If you watch the software do you see a lot of the RPM jumping around? Do you already have resistor spark plugs installed?"
yes I do see flutter on the software No it has W7AC standard copper plugs in it. As you know a cooler plug because of the higher compression ratio on this motor.
I ordered a set of resistor plugs by mistake in the correct heat range a long time ago and threw them on the shelf. I will go out and try them later and let you all know the results.
If it fails Cip1 gets more of my money.
Cheers

the ignitor 2 has dwell control and a more? sensitive trigger (they always crank longer than a 1). i installed a cb box in a vette once that had a 2 in it...it now has a 1 due to the same issue you are experiencing. my street car has a locked out 009 and a cb box and it works great. play with the dual carb preset once your on the road. mine took a few more degrees of initial(nice idle) and i brought the vac advance in a tad earlier.

Thanks for that Mitchy. I reinstalled the 009 and will go with that for now. I am going to order a version 1 ignitor for the billet distributor eventually. The black box is cool with the 009 it starts quickly and runs smooth. I like it already kinda fun to hook a loptop up to my 56 to tune it.

ack I ordered my BB right after you were over last week. I wonder If I can add the ignitor 1 to it. I also bought the 2040 Vacuum reference kit as well as I didn't want to drill into my CSP manifold kit, and because I m bitchy like that.

If you are going to change out the MSD distributor I would be interested in buying it. I could get you another distributor with a ignitor to trade if that interests you. If you dont have a serial connector on your laptop you will need a serial to usb adapter. They can be twitchy to connect with the adapter anyways. I have one I can loan you if you need it. It was no big deal to add ports to the manifolds. I will be drilling even bigger ones when I add the nitrous sprayers. Lol just kidding on that one.

After several emails back and forth with Mark from CB there is no resolution to the BB issues. As mentioned Mark offered a couple things to try with no success or even a change in performance or symptoms. He never actually said the BB would not work with the ignitor 2 but as Mitchy, myself and I'm sure many many others know it is not compatible.
I think CB should mention it in their details about the BB and that would have helped a lot in troubleshooting.
The ignitor 1 is on order and will be installed in one of my shiny distributors so all will be well in a couple days.
The motor seems to be happy and running pretty good at this point. Brent and Jim J. stopped by the other day to have a look and listen. I think they approved. I have a little more time on the run stand to go but I am tentatively installing it this weekend.
I also need to get the BB in its permenet home under the back seat of the 56. I will assume I will have overlooked a few things that will cause me a delay during the install but keeping fingers crossed.

Any chance I can borrow your run in stand once my 2110 engine parts arrive? Should be a few weeks yet before I'm ready to do a break-in.

Any chance I can borrow your run in stand once my 2110 engine parts arrive? Should be a few weeks yet before I'm ready to do a break-in. Dave It's nothing pretty at all, but more stable than some things you see on youtube. Literally scabbed together with throwaways. This stand has key switch for main power, the toggle is coil power the push button is fuel pump. Oil temp Pressure and stock idiot lights. Tach has been dropped on the ground and only gives general Idea of RPM. So yes you can borrow it. You will need your own battery starter and coil. I will message you when I am done with it Cheers

Not sure if it works, but here is a link to a youtube video I posted. My first one ever. Just a run video of my 2017cc motor project.

So just when you think things are going your way... I am glad I didn't just build it and install it in the car. I found a issue with the valve train on my 2017. Went from this To this When I pulled the rockers to check the tourq on the head studs I found a funny looking lash cap. Check out this youtube link to get a little better look Going out now to the 56 to wire in the BB and install some front lap belts. Cheers.
