You know that helmet would look good on you!
I'd be afraid to drive something that rare and valuable. I'm bad enough with my bus!

Nice to see a bus at a reasonable price, $2,000, even it is somewhat worn. The seller includes a lot of detail, but I believe a Westfalia was closer to $13,000 in 1979. Quote: "...this beautiful creature cost a whopping $22,000 in 1979 when it was new, and at the time, you could buy a brand new Rabbit hatchback for a measly $2400..." vancouver.craigslist.ca/van/cto/4871807418.html

In the ad… "Gertie is a 1979 VW campmobile. this is the last year VW ever made the type 2 "baywindow" in north america, and it was a good year. this beautiful creature cost a whopping $22,000 in 1979 when it was new, and at the time, you could buy a brand new Rabbit hatchback for a measly $2400. suffice to say, this thing was, and still is, the cats ass." I dunno about you, but I'd rather not sleep in a cat's ass. Still, for a Bus that you can take down a FSR, after some work, not a bad price. Expect lots of rot though.

I've been watching that ad and feeling tempted. Reality check: I need to finish the bay project I already have.

What we need is a massive, and I do mean big, communal barn/storage area to secure all these beauties. I know Don is doing his best to look after the pristine ones

Very interesting Brent, a bus like that would have sold for a lot less just a few years ago. It has some unusual looking vents in the sliding door. ?
