It's funny how sticky those kitchen cabinets can get over the years. I guess being near to moisture and occasional food droppings contribute a lot. The plumbing in Westies has always seemed like an inexact science to me, but you have cleaned it up big time. Better than ever.

A while ago I started the Bus up to make sure all the electrical was put together properly and ran it for a bit. Ran great, but after shutting it off there was a pool of gas under the rear!! Yikes!! Not that I needed it, but good thing I had the fire extinguisher on hand! I am pretty sure short hose to the #4 injector was the problem because it was all gas soaked in the area. Even with a blurry pic you can see how gross this looks. Cracked and the clamps were even loose. So I changed it out with hose recommended by Bavarian Haven't given 'er a run yet as it was too late last night to, but soon. Still have to replace a CV boot and install the pop top seal. Guess which one I am not looking forward to The last thing will be to clean the engine compartment because all I have done to this point is vacuum it in anticipation to it getting dirty in the body shop(which it did!).

Painted the outside drain vent cover with plastic paint as it had been painted already and was looking a bit worse for wear. For fun I did the drain plug and securing flanged nut too. Oh yeah, put the repaired visors in too

Very nice, Don. Will look awesome at Volksfest. I hope the owner appreciates all the extra work you have done to make this bus exceptional!

Aw shucks guys….now where is that embarrassment emoticon when I need it, lol Yeah, I think the effort is worth it and stand the Westy in good stead for years to come(with luck and care ). I am pretty stoked that Jay has decided to bring it to Volksfest. This was never meant to be a show Bus, but I think it turned in a show/driver kinda like my Riviera and Russ' Restfalia (if I may be so bold as to make that comparison). There are still some traces of having lived a life as a camping Westy, but I think it just adds to the charm and makes it easier to keep enjoying it in a manner for which it was intended.

That fuel leak made me nervous, are you going to change out all the lines? When was the last time they were done? I installed new fuel lines on both buses this spring, though only one of the vans really needed it. Call me paranoid.

Hey Don, I am in awe. Incredible work. Trust me when I say that my family and I are extremely appreciative of you (and your mum) for all the hard work and attention to detail you have paid. We have been dreaming of a Westfalia for literally years, and this beauty will be cherished for years to come. I cannot wait - the days seem to be going by soooo slowly.
What do you think about the other fuel lines? Now I'm paranoid.
