Well, after years of looking, waiting and dreaming about it, my family finally has a Westfalia. I have to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Don and Laurie for all of their time, patience, expertise, advice and encouragement with this build. Don is a true gentleman and man of his word. I would without hesitation recommend Don if one were considering any type of work on their Bay window. He clearly has the good of the VW community at heart, and a love for Bay window buses. As well, thank you to Russ for his time and expertise with this build. I know that on more than a few occasions he generously offered his advice, materials and shop when needed. He also made the long trek to Seattle with Don to bring it home. I look forward to repaying your kindness. This all began two years ago at the Great Canadian. I was suitably impressed with the paint job on Russ' Westfalia, so I asked him about it. He brought Don into the conversation. At the time I was considering buying a different Westfalia that needed some work. Don and I kept contact about possible Westfalia projects over the next 6-8 months. One day, I got a call from Don who asked me if I was interested in a very solid bus out of Everett. The rest is history (and documented on this site). Once again, THANK YOU DON! Cheers!

Congratulations Jay. That is a very, very nice Westy that you have. Don's attention to detail is incredible. It was great to finally see the bus back on the road with a happy owner.

We all hoped to see it today at the show, where it would have surely won first place! Don put LOTS of effort into this project and it shows. Look after it well, Jay.
