I think you have to have a warped mind to understand Tony's comment. I know EXACTLY what he is referring to... Brent did find something interesting under the seat. It's initials were not O.B., but something like K.Y.! Wonder if you can use it as points grease???

So ya, a bit of monkeying around and it lives. It's home, has dry zee air in, battery charging and a heater in low. Hope to get it cleaned up and charging problem figured out tomorrow It was fun to drive, miss those magical gear shifters and spongie drum brakes .... Definitely a different ride

Brent are you going to put a camping interior in this one? Yes! That would be fun planning an interior. I need to revamp one of mine too. And Russ, I know it seems sacrilegious, but in a pinch you can always put in a 009, I have one in a spares box under the seat that bailed me out on the road once

I don't think I'll camperize. Curtains maybe in near future, maybe a cab divider to keep heat up front, but I'm leaning more towards a cruiser. After all, I have a camper already!

So, I went to try and figure out why it wouldn't make it home. Starting first with electrical. The points looked like crap. I yanked them out and started sanding away. This was the best I could get them It's pretty amazing how much crap I have in my bus. Lesson learned on one of my road trips. Always be prepared! Also love that the rear hatch makes for a perfect height for a work bench I even got Russ to help out ..

I like the idea of keeping the OG interior. It looks like a really nice bus. Your ideas are right up there with what I would do to it - gentle, reversible lowering and a nice set of rims. OG rims look great on these earlier buses too. I love the Neptune Blue as well. A nice looking bus.

Brent needs to install a high powered air freshener in there as one of the priorities... And come on, EVERYONE knows that it will run much better with clean whitewalls...

Sorry for being late to the party. I've tried to stay away from computers for the last few week so I could focus on my bug (almost done).
Stoked to see this bus back in the family. My 70 bus is supposed to be the same Neptune Blue. I was about 90 % sure I was going to repaint it (even though everyone I know likes the lame green it currently is). But I guess I better not pain it now or we'll get our rides mixed up.
Pretty sweet score my friend!

Just some of the carnage going on at my place yesterday. Damn it was cold in the afternoon!
The boss made sure Brent was organizing his Westfalia workbench properly...
Brent seems to be bonding well with his new bus so far...

Popped top off the carb this am, fiddled with float and stuff. All seemed well, so put back together and no leaky? Started up, ran, sat, ran, and decided to go for a ride. Stopped at Big O and they weren't to busy Purolater stopped by before my test drive, so I figured it was time Nothin ever seems to go smoothly though ... But, I got it home, and it drive "awesome" Now it needs a REAL GOOD cleaning ...

Dig the gas burners. Brent, there's nothing like a little rubbing compound on an old VW paint job, I bet it'll buff up really nicely
