Hold on, when did Don own this one? And my cousin 2 owners before me. I got ahold of it before it was "pushed to the back" to become a potting shed. See the resurrection here: miacvw.proboards.com/thread/3/cousins-old-blue-70Gonna slam it and rim it Brent?

Honestly, I think I'm gonna drop it, with 2" spindles and adj rear accordingly. Probably new style rims to update its tired soul and have a decent cruiser. Nothing radical, but a kind of face lift ..... Let's get it running and safe first, then I'll see. Who knows, but whatever I do, I'm sure it will make it better than it is. Tried driving it home, but the lights wouldn't work, ran like crap under pressure, made it 4-5 blocks, and it sits at a secret hiding spot that I need to go to, today, to tuneup and get home. Hoping it's just crusty build up on points, fuses, and connections that need some attention . As for Tony's question, it was questioned about being in a robbery and used as a getaway vehicle. Just adds to the story

Dibs on the rims! Personally I really like the look of widened stock rims on a slightly lowered Bus, but each to their own. I am hoping most of the stickers will go away and that it be driven regularly…it deserves that after its storied past

Ok, so it was THAT bus " Old Blue" I learned a lot from that thread. I would have bought it too (if I had the room, time money etc,) knowing about and seeing the honest renovation work done by Don. Best of all it's back in the club, a kind of home coming, and Don doesn't have to store it, but I'm sure Brent will take him for a ride

It just left that secret location known as my yard. Amazing how it broke down in my driveway... Anyway Brent found the points to be closed and burnt. Filing them and setting the timing helped, but still no power. We put in a set of "good-ish" used points I had in the stash with another condenser. Lack of power turned out to be a failed vacuum line connection to the advance canister. 1970 buses and Beetles use an all vacuum advance unit. If it doesn't work, then no advance for you at all, and no power... Now Brent just has to figure out why the generator is not working...
