So far Imgur has been a pleasure to use... Time to leave Photobucket behind. The bad thing is Photobucket is certainly on the downward spiral and it is only a matter of time before photos disappear...

Things have a way of changing in this technological world and I don't imagine Imgur is too different. One day it too may be inaccessible, but for now it looks like a great way to go.  |

Being that photobucket was a leader in the game for a while, it's likely that even if they spiral down a long way, they will be purchased and maintained by a competitor. Let's hope!

I recently received an e-mail from Photobucket. Over the years they have sent several, mostly about offers to print pictures and stuff. This e-mail was different, as it is the first one that recommends I back up any pictures saved with them. Might be an ominous warning...

Sooo, I looked it up. I have four different accounts with Photobucket, and a total of 2681 pictures! Given that the vast majority of these have been linked to this site, things will look different around here if Photobucket goes down. Of course if everyone else has four free accounts like me, and have never given Photobucket any money, is it any wonder they are going down??? Apparently Imgur somehow makes money with limited advertising and free unlimited accounts. It seems obvious that Photobucket will not last much longer, so I am not looking forward to relink over 2000 photos back to this site when the inevitable happens... Fun times ahead!
