So this is where we left off after this failure I had to take a hard look at my system to clean up the contamination I was getting my compressor had taken a beating with the sandblasting and I had to do some work on it prior to this last spray thinking there may be oil in the lines I switched up hoses and cleaned the job with isopropyl cleaned and checked my filters then sprayed the outside. Well I got the same results fish eye. Some of these went all the way down to the primer. !

Frustrating!
I have a long coiled air hose connected between my compressor and water trap. I believe it does a great job of limiting contamination and moisture even before it meets the trap. I'm not sure if that would help you, but it seems to help me. I wish I had some good tips, but my journey into the world of body and paint is only just beginning.
Good luck! B

I ran into my instructor at a swap meet and he asked how my paint turned out I told he about the fish eye and he right wanted to come over after the swap meet a look at the system he also wanted to see my cars. Larry showed up and had a good look and made some suggestions he told me to elevate my airline and have at least 2 drops in it add a filter further down the line the one I have is at the compressor increase my airline to 3/8 from 1/4 because I am using LPHV gravity gun buy some proper final wipe solvent. I did all that added a second water air filter further down the line I also added a small disposable one at the gun along with a small regular and gauge at the gun so I can control 30psi at the gun.

I also bought fresh paint the other stuff seemed to have bursting action on the surface of the material when I stirred it plus new fresh hardner and fresh slowest reducer I could get the other stuff was couple years old. I sanded and filled the fish eye with 2 part glazing puddy and sanded with 400 dry.

Keep at it Terry, this is all very interesting stuff….unfortunately it's your grief with the process and then the following evaluation by you and your instructor that help us learn what to look out for. One step forward and two back is sometimes a fact of life as we all know, but it doesn't mean we have to enjoy it as part of the overall process!
