I may be way off course here but don't they have a small independent "compressor" or pressure genorator specifically for LPHV guns? That way there is no potential for contaminants in from the regular air tank?

That way there is no potential for contaminants in from the regular air tank? Maybe someone more qualified could answer this I only know of oil free compressors but they have tanks. I was told to drain my tank everyday as well. The inside turned out good this time I sprayed. also these had rust pits that was welded up and ground down The license light was also squashed out of shape and had pits rusted though right on the end here and it was good that I had a new lens so that I was able to bend it back to it's correct shape the lens fits really tight and so does the gasket.

I went to mount the decklid and after getting it on the hinges I could not start the bolts and had to pull it off again and clean the paint out of bolt holes then mounted it again bolted it down and then it would not close without making contact at top center not matter what position the hinges were at. This hood had been smacked pretty good the hinges were bent and I had straightened then using a hinge from a 61 beetle as a guide the 61 hinge has more offset and longer adjustment slots.

After taking it back off I let it sit for a month trying to figure out what to do I was going to cut the hinge and open it up some but decided to try the 61 hinge as one side was tighter than the other and there is more adjustment plus the offset I was looking for so I painted it up and decided to try the one I have. Well it is tight and would not closed till absolutely centered on the hinges but it open and close great with good clearance at the edges now.

I couldn't use the hinge washers that come with later beetles the bolt pattern is slightly different I will make one up for next time I have decklid off.
