Last day of insurance so I decided to go for a drive to gold river I had not been driving much and it is running well so I thought the gold river highway would be a good run to the ramp at the old mill is around trip of about 220 kilometers weather are misty with lots of dry roads. It was rainy when I toured the ramp and mill site there a dryland operating and the operator on one of the machines gave me the thumbs up and at the ramp is the mouth of the Gold River where I could see 3 Elk on the estuary feeding I stopped there and took a couple pictures one of my car that I would like to share There wasn't much traffic on the highway at all I saw a really nice gold 1986-volkswagen-westfalia-syncro-van that looked just like this beta.adventure-journal.com/2011/03/for-sale-1986-volkswagen-westfalia-syncro-van/ it was in to and the pretty girl driving it gave me a piece sign and made my day. Nice drive home but I did have to do like 90mph to get pass a propane trunk in the passing lane and going through Echo lake was a blast going though the corners and gunning it in third one car pulled out of my way I didn't try to keep with the loggers in the trucks on the wet roads I wouldn't stand a chance. car sits just right terry, wish i coulda gone with ya! what kinda rpms @90mph? btw i love your plate prefix Would be fun to cruise up there with others I don't have a tack but good question on the rmps so I hooked up a tack today and took it up to 45mph little hard to read but it is and snap on tack and it said 2700 so that would make it 5400rpm at 90mph the trans is stock longaxle swing but I think it is like a 74 it came with the 3 bolt nosecone I also run one of those rotors rev limit at 5800 in case I miss a shift. I did as well as changed an axle seal plus added .030 shims into one of my solid rocker setups adjusted valves and brakes changed oil and filter did rust check and under seal with a good clean up! Picture of the wheel I lost and found the next day deep in the forest after losing it on the inland at 120km in 2015.

So I have been having trouble with my Green 65 bug the throttle was either on or off and not able to control very well the car was becoming erratic to drive going uphill not bad coming downhill or flat cruising I had to chase the rpm's with the pedal very time I leveled off backed off. Decided to change out my pedals with the later beetle pedal setup with the gas pas pedal attached to the pedal cluster and add all new parts to get rid of the Z bar gas pedal and go to the roller pedal and the slower ramp that it provides. This went pretty good there were some things I had to deal with first and biggest issue was the pedal stop the newer pedals have there pedal stops tabs that are much larger are set further forward on the cluster about 3/4 inch.I had to bend the brake line out of the way to clear the larger stops on the pedals also. I could not adjust my pedal stop on the floor to move forward enough to give me enough pedal travel to operate the clutch and brake properly. I had to drill and bolt it further forward by 3/4inch I made a heavier one with angle iron. This worked I had to change to the new style throttle cable and added the later throttle cable bowden tube.So of course in the process of this work I found the root of my problems. Yes that is a loose front transmission mount bolt I decided to do the job anyway all new parts I should have had a later style brake push rod the earlier are too fat to long I believe I had to loosen the cluster to get it on same when I went to hook up the throttle cable to the pedal arm. I had the pedals off and on so many times till I got it figured out but real nice now that it is all done.
